All Aboard!

On Aug. 3rd Jesse and I celebrated 6 years of marriage (13 years together). Only a couple more years and we’ll have known each other half our lives. That’s whack.

As a surprise (to me) we took a train ride from Stillwater, MN. It was a very nice time with a five course meal. We sat at tables of four, so with the ride being three hours long we got to know the other couple that sat with us pretty well. It was a good time, aside from the occasional interruption by the cheesy acapella singers in their 40’s costumes who strolled through the cars swaggering their shoulders, snapping their fingers and looking you square in the eye while belting out vintage songs at the top of their lungs. I’m assuming they were supposed to be a supplement to the experience. My mind spaced out as it sometimes does, wondering if this was their full time job because they never made it to broadway, or if any of them had ever tripped during their “performance,” going flying into someone’s lap, spilling food everywhere as the train made a sudden jerk. Stupid bib overall costume splitting down the backside. It was a little tricky to walk – let alone walk, sing and make people feel uncomfortable all at once. Now that would have been entertaining.
