APB

Police are asking the public for help in solving a recent stolen vehicle case. Officers sent a bib found at the scene to an FBI lab and say the results suggest they may be dealing with a juvenile.

The youth entered a lot in SE Rochester at approximately 11:12 am. Some evidence suggests there may have been a “look alike” or fellow accomplice in an attempt to confuse people on the scene. The suspect threatened to drool although it was unclear if anyone was in real danger.

The robber then fled the scene in a red convertible.

Police have no further description of the thief, but have released surveillance footage captured on the department’s new monitoring equipment, the Grand Recorder of All Minutiae (GRAM-Cam). The image suggests the suspect may be headed for northern Minnesota.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chief Jason Howes.
